Seals

Gods are very powerful beings, able to affect things on a universal scale with minimal effort. Their presence in the mortal realm can have an adverse effect on the natural way of things simply due to the magnitude of their power, for this reason the Divine Order has long had a law which orders Gods to seal three quarters of their power inside an object of personal value that is kept on their person at all times. This can be any object, from a weapon to a ring, or even a article of clothing. Whilst their power is sealed this way, they are closer in strength to a Seraph or Archdevil. Release of their seal is only allowed in the most dire of situations, like a matter of life or death, or to protect nature from an even more dangerous influence.

Underworld Military
The Underworld military was set up by Emperor Veras I after taking the throne as one of several reforms put into effect to consolidate his power. The new standing army was a disciplined and efficient establishment, formed into legions with a clear hierarchy of command and strict training regimens the new military became a well oiled machine of war under the direct guidance of the Emperor Veras.
Officer ranks of the Underworld military are as follows:
Imperator
The Imperator is the overall commander of the Underworld military. As the rank suggests the Imperator wields imperial authority in the name of the emperor, new Imperators are named in an official ceremony which takes place in the throne room of the imperial palace. The new Imperator kneels before the emperor who places his hand upon the Imperator's head and names them to the position.
Legate
The second highest rank in the Underworld military, Legates command the legions of Underworld. Each Legate commands ten legions each, though one Legate can gain the title of Imperial Legate effectively making them second only to the Imperator in terms of military authority. This means the Imperial Legate acts as leader in the Imperator's absence, as well as holds command in the field when the Imperator must remain at the planning table.
Tribune
Tribunes command a legion under the direction of a Legate. Often a legion can be posted by itself to garrison a stronghold, meaning the Tribune carries a great deal of responsibility and influence. Being a Tribune considered a high honour in devil society, as commanding an entire legion means honour and glory.
Prefect
Prefects command a cohort of five centuries within a legion, they are the administrative officers of a legion especially when the legion makes camp. One Prefect is given the title of Legionary Prefect, second to the Tribune and commands the first cohort of the legion which consists of ten centuries instead of the usual five and carries the legion's banner.
Centurion
A Centurion commands a century within the legion as the name suggests. They are responsible for all of the soldiers under their command, including discipline. One Centurion within a cohort is given the rank of Legionary Centurion and acts as second to the Prefect in command.
Unit Structure
An army is made up of ten legions, around 50,000 soldiers commanded by a Legate.
A legion is made up of nine cohorts, around 5,000 soldiers commanded by a Tribune.
A first cohort consists of ten centuries, around 1,000 soldiers commanded by a Legionary Prefect and carry their legion's banner.
A cohort consists of five centuries, around 500 soldiers commanded by a Prefect.
A century consists of around 100 soldiers commanded by a Centurion.

The Seven Sins

The Seven Sins (sometimes referred to as the Deadly Sins) were the seven children of Baelze, bred and created using an imprisoned mortal woman directly responsible for the torture and butchering of Baelze's wife and a great deal of anti-immortal propaganda, as punishment for her crime Baelze made her bring these seven Devil abominations into existence.

They were bred for a single purpose, war and vengeance upon the mortals Baelze now despised so much. First born was Pride and from his genetic blueprint, the other six were implanted in the body of the mortal woman, who died when the six essentially tore her apart due to their immortal powers upon birth.

Pride is considered by his six siblings to be the big brother, the leader so to speak of the seven. Their power directly correlates with the order of their birth, though to those not able to sense such differences, that gap in power would seem negligible. In order of birth and thus power they are as follows:

Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, Lust.

Over aeons since that bloody war their names have come to be common words in the languages of both immortals and mortals, the meanings of these words are of course derived from the behaviour of the Sin and thus it is reasonable to deduce what each one was like and the depths of the horror they must have rained down upon the mortals they were made to fight and eventually their fellow immortals in the civil war that followed.

Thus far only the where abouts of Wrath and Lust are known, the other five remain illusive but it is fairly conclusive among the Divine Order that while all seven were killed in the civil war millions of years ago, it's only a matter of time until they all manifest as Inner Devils if they have not already done so. There's an extreme view among some of the oldest immortals who remember the horror the Sins brought that those who manifest them should be executed for the greater good.

The Elder Gods have so far forbidden the execution of these individuals.

Priests

Priests of the Divine Order have the name of the specific deity (God or Immortal) they serve tattooed permanently onto their foreheads in a runic form of High Daeva similar in style to Kanji.
