GENERAL BOARD RULES

1. We don't mind if you swear a bit or drop a few F bombs sometimes but only when not aimed abusively at another member. Show others the proper respect or you will be warned and possibly suspended depending upon severity.

2. Advertise in the advertising forum ONLY. If you advertise anywhere else then your post will be deleted.

3. Signatures should not have an excess of text/pictures. If it stretches the board format, or is over 400 pixels high, then you will asked to edit or remove this signature. Signatures should not contain nudity simply because not all people want to see that kind of thing.

4. The staff of Eternal Tale is working hard to keep the forum running smoothly. Please respect their authority, and if you disagree with what they say appeal to them in a PM. If there is an argument, the staff have final say. Ignoring staff decisions will result in a warning.

5. In general, this board has a mature rating, most of the members are adult or near adulthood. However if the contents of a thread are of a particularly mature nature, please mark the thread title thus to warn off people who do not wish to read it. This does not just cover sexual antics but also particularly grizzly or brutal content. Note: Rape RP is forbidden and anyone who does it will be banned instantly!

CHARACTER RULES

1. All of your characters will be bound to one account, this means you do not need to make a new account per character. We suggest listing your characters in your signature so people know who you play.

2. You may have as many characters as you believe you can handle. However if the staff do not believe you are able to keep up with what you have, then any future applications shall be denied.

3. Every character must have a completed profile before they begin playing. It would be expected that your character's profile is kept up to date so that others are aware of what your character has achieved. The profile template can be found here.

4. NPC's (Non-Player Characters) do not need approval from administrators. However, these are temporary characters that are held by the same code of conduct as Player-controlled characters.

5. If you plan to be absent, please try to remove yourself from threads and don't start new ones unless those who you are RPing with know you plan to be gone and are okay with it.

IN CHARACTER (IC) RULES

1. The golden rules! No godmoding, metagaming or powerplay. If anyone is caught doing these things they will be asked to edit their post, if they do it repeatedly they will be given a warning and eventually banned. Of course if such a thing was agreed between the posters before hand then this rule can be bent for the sake of furthering the plot of the thread and overall story.

2. Please allow others 72 hours (3 days) to respond to a post before moving on. It's not nice when you have had to take a couple of days off due to real life circumstances only to return and find you have a whole page of posts to read through, but it's also not nice to leave others waiting too long to continue a plot so be mindful of your fellow posters please.

3. An IC post must be at least one paragraph (6-8 lines) long in length. However, it is recommended that two or three paragraphs be the minimum response. This helps add depth to the story, as well as increasing communication between the players.

4. Though generic NPCs can be played and manipulated by anyone, it is considered good practice to seek the permission of an NPC's creator before acting out anything significant with them.

5. OOC posts in IC threads distract from the story. Please refrain from posting in such a manner. If you need to contact someone and discuss something, either post in the Roleplay Planning forum, or send a PM.

THREE STRIKES AND YOU'RE OUT

When you first break a rule you will be sent a PM informing you of doing so, at this stage you will not get a warning. If you break the rules again then you will be given a formal warning by the staff, if you then break the rules a third time you will be a banned without possibility of return unless the staff unanimously decide to allow you back.

Breaking certain rules will get you banned immediately without warning, such at the no rape RP rule. If you are banned due to breaching one of these rules you will be banned permanently with no possibility of returning, even via a staff decision to bring you back.
