Hair & Eyes: Maximilian has short, scruffy blonde hair that always has the appearance of having not been combed, even when it has been. He keeps it short for the purposes of practicality, long hair being a hinderance to him. His eyes are green rather than the perhaps more commonly expected blue that normally accompanies those of blonde hair, something he prides himself to a degree because it sets him apart just a bit.
Height & Weight: Maximilian stands at a reasonably tall six feet, two inches and weighs in at around one seventy three pounds. He's certainly not very muscular in build, but appears athletic which he maintains, due to his need to be in good shape while travelling to perform field work.
Specific Details: His left hand and lower forearm bares a strange tattoo that can glow during the performance of certain spells, this is actually a focus discovered during his research of old elven ruins and helps him to weave magic more effectively with less physical repercussions if the spell is particularly taxing. The colour the tattoo glows is dependant upon the spell being cast.

Personality: A rather free-spirited soul, Maximilian is the type to enjoy going off alone to perform studies without notification, much to his family's disapproval. He comes off as particularly cheerful and inquisitve but also brilliant, his intellect serving him well in all of the situations he faces. When he faces a new discovering he can also be excitable, babbling on to no end about how marvelous and wondrous the discover is, even beyond the point that people have stopped paying the slightest attention to him. He very rarely lets anything put a wrench into the works of his work or life, just taking everything as it comes while seeking to further the understanding of Aurela for all of its peoples not just humanity.

He is fiercely loyal to the college and his family, with a great affection for his sister who he spends a great deal of his time at the college helping with her tasks as a student there, wanting her to become a fully licensed and accepted wizard so she can begin to accompany him on his research trips. There is some weight on him however that he carries well, but can at times seem troubled by, that is to say his parents being such high positioned wizards at the college and widely regarded among the human nations as a whole. His father in particular is someone he butts heads with often, not always sharing his views but always respecting him as both a parent and headmaster of the college.

History: Maximilian Porell is about as much of a wizard as you can get. He was born to two wizard parents in the wizard's college in Lendorn, raised in the college and taught magic the moment he was old enough to be entered as a student. His mother was a teacher at the college, while his father was the deputy headmaster at the time of his birth, but would later go on to become headmaster in his own right. He even has a little sister who is herself of course a wizard, and his grandparents on both sides had been wizards, and his great grandparents on both sides, and so on for as long as the college records go back.

To say that Maximilian took to his studies with gusto would be quite the understatement, he absolutely adored being a wizard and learning all he could about magic, his thirst for knowledge impressed his teachers immensely as did his more than considerable skill with the magical arts. By the age of nineteen he was already a fully fledged wizard of the second grade, graduating two years earlier than most wizards and at only one grade from the top of five grades. The first was for students, the second for senior students, the third was the standard grade for graduated mages, the second was the grade required to teach and the first put you in the highest echalons of magic user on Aurela.

His entire life since his graduation has been researching and delving into the mysteries of magic and the history of the world around him, he even took part as a guest lecturer for the students at the college, somebody for them to look up to still being a young man himself and yet having accomplished so much. He actively helped in the formation of the special research division of the college, a collection of magic users from all of the races on Aurela with the obvious exception of the noth who the college didn't count as a race anyway and of course the orcs who do not practice magic even in a shamanistic sense.

With the special research division he has ventured to many different ruins across Aurela, unearthing the planet's history and in his time researching as come to a stark realisation - that Aurela is not the only inhabited planet in the universe. Though he has no shared this information with his peers, he continues to search for clues as to universe beyond his world and in a stroke of irony, is one of the few if perhaps the only person on Aurela who might have become truly self-aware without the aid of an outside force. Recently he has been known to take long trips into Lycan territory, where he has friends among the shamans of their tribes.

He still has no clue he is living on a dream world, but each day he seems to come closer and closer to the revelation, the deeper his search into the world beyond Aurela goes the more he unearths of the truth. He has seen names carved in old stones, names like Baelze, Castion and Gaia. These celestial beings he has come to realize are gods of some kind, but he doesn't quite know just how close he is to the truth. Or how near he is to stumbling upon those who might reveal it to him.
