Personality: An assassin by trade, Corinthius takes great pride in his work - so much so that he sticks to a strict code of honour he developed himself over the years. He doesn't suffer fools lightly, and generally keeps to himself. Though unable to develop trust or friendships quickly, when he does begin to trust somebody he trusts them completely, and without hesitation - taking their word as though it were gospel truth. A friendship with Corinthius, however, is not lightly thrown aside. Should he be betrayed, revenge becomes his sole focus until the betrayer is brought to, in his eyes, justice - usually at the end of his sword.
History: The only evidence that Corinthius even exists is that a dead body will occasionally be found with a small skull lying on or near it, intricately carved from pure onyx stone. This has lead to whispers of a feared assassin, and stories told to children to scare them into behaving, that there exists a being, born of the night, who can kill a man in a crowded street in broad daylight without anyone even noticing. Even those who hire him to carry out an assassination have never seen any evidence as to his existence, other than those they want dead will always turn up dead one day, and their wallets are significantly lighter the following morning.
RP Sample:A large procession of nobles, diplomats and soldiers made its way through the streets of one of the major human cities of Aurella. Today was an auspicious day, for one of the noble houses was celebrating the birth of a son after many years of trying - the nobleman's wife long thought to be barren. The streets were lined with the common masses, cheering more out of fear of reprisal than out of love for the ruling classes who kept them downtroden. The sun shone brightly as the procession made its way into the shade of a large archway - built to celebrate a military victory of years past. The gilded carriage, housing the happy couple and their son, came to an abrupt halt under the archway, much to the chagrin of the occupants.
"What is the meaning of this?" the nobleman asked to the guards flanking the carriage. The guard-captain pointed ahead of the carriage, where an old man was crossing the road. He leaned heavily on a gnarled wooden cane, a brown hooded robe hiding his features. He moved slowly, clearly suffering from arthritis or some other malady of old age.
"Get him out of the way! I won't have my son's birthday celebrations spoiled by some old pauper." The guards nodded and moved to hurry the man along, by force if need be. As they moved away from the carriage, Corinthius made his move.
He had been clinging to the underside of the archway for several hours, waiting for this exact moment. The man crossing the road had just made his job easier. He released his grip and landed in front of the carriage, startling the horses but he quickly rolled underneath the carriage, gripping his twin Kusurigama in his hands. Taking a deep breath and centering himself, he cut through the wood of the carriage floor and jumped up through the hole. The nobles inside had little time to react as he slew them and their infant son - the contract agreed stipulated that there should be no survivors left in the carriage. He quickly slipped back out through the hole he had entered by, then darted to blend in with the crowd.
Upon their return, the guards found the bloody scene inside, and an ominous onyx skull placed on each of their bodies. Though the alarm was raised, Corinthius was never discovered.
